China’s MSI surprises with warranty for its sources that covers the whole PC

User stories are not uncommon to have difficulty replacing defective products on their PCs here in Brazil. And now China’s MSI will envy with a warranty for its fonts 80 plus gold or better that covers not only the component, but any part that can be damaged by its malfunction.

The post was made on MSI’s official account on the Chinese social network Bilibili. For the continental region of the country, the company has pledged to offer “perfect after sales support”, extending its warranty in sources to the entire user’s PC.

It is a bold initiative, but it makes sense. The source is responsible for providing energy properly for all components of a computer, so a manufacturing defect can result in more parts being harmed.

Therefore, China’s MSI will use an outsourced company to investigate cases of defects covered by the warranty. If it is determined that it was the fault of the source, the company will replace the pieces with the same or equivalent products of its lines.

MSI “aggressive” warranty provides for reimbursement

If MSI does not have an equivalent for one of the components impaired on the computer, the company will offer a refund to the user. In the first year of source warranty, the brand will pay 100% of the price of compromised pieces. In the second year of warranty the value drops to 90% and in the remaining years the reimbursement is 75%.

Since sources 80 Plus Gold, Titanium and Platinum from MSI offer 10 -year warranty, is a considerable period of coverage.

Does the warranty cover damaged yellow connectors?

It is important to note that MSI will only replace parts impaired by a source malfunction within the parameters provided for by its factory warranty. That is, user error and misuse do not enter the coverage.

So it can be a little complicated to get, for example, a compensation in the case of GPUS RTX 40 or RTX 50 connectors, as manufacturers so often blame users for poorly executed installation in these cases. MSI itself uses yellow connectors in the sources of its current generation, to make it easier to see if they were completely inserted.
