This week, the Chinese government began to organize a list of hardware suppliers that are recommended for local companies that want to work with artificial intelligence. Similarly, China also does not recommend solutions from AMD or any other foreign company. This demonstrates a new stance by the local government, which intends to develop its own industry and encourage the development of locally created hardware.
The new list will be distributed to ministries and state companiesas well as for various public institutions. While it should not eliminate NVIDIA’s presence in the local market, the intention appears to be to limit the use of the company’s hardware to segments in which they are strictly necessary.
