Cherry reveals his first inductive switches and promises no mechanical wear

Cherry took advantage of Computex 2025 to present the IK switches, the company’s first inductive switches for mechanical keyboards. According to the manufacturer, its patented inductive technology guarantees zero mechanical wear on the new buttons, “even after millions of keyboards.”

Inductive switches such as Cherry IK use electromagnetic field to detect user input, dispensing with the need for direct contact to acting. This is what ends up as a mechanical wear of use of switch, according to the company. They also promise a considerable reduction in energy consumption.

According to Cherry, IK switches use up to 50% less energy to work than traditional mechanics, and up to 5% less than hall effects. This can result in more autonomy for wireless keyboard battery.

Cherry also presents three new MK switches

In addition to its first inductive switch, Cherry introduced three new colors for traditional MK. The company diversifies the experience of using each of its buttons through colors, so there are three new options of sensation, usability and noise level.

MK Honey is the first silent switch of the company that does not sacrifice the tactile response. It is part of the MX2A family, with a new high quality spring and lubricant.

MK Blossom promises to be the “lighter” linear mechanical switch that Cherry has ever done. This means that it requires less strength when typing, with a force of active acting in just 35cn. Its availability is scheduled for June this year.

Finally, MK Falcon is for those who like the noise of mechanical keyboards. According to the manufacturer, he is inspired by feedback from the community and is aimed at those who write a lot, incorporating a more retro look into their color standard and delivering a close -up experience – both in sensation and noise.
