Lip-BU Tan, Intel’s new CEO, began his management with drastic changes in charge of the company, completely restructuring the leadership chain and bringing the artificial intelligence division to its direct scope.
The strategy aims to face Intel’s loss of competitiveness against rivals such as Nvidia and AMD, especially in the AI chip sector, where the company has been behind in recent years.
Sachin Katti is the new CTO and IA leader
Among the changes, Tan appointed Sachin KattI as a new Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of the company, also accumulating the role of leader of the artificial intelligence strategy.
Katti, who previously led the edge and networking computing areas, will now be responsible for all Intel’s elementary research, including Intel Labs activities and relationships with startups and developer communities.
