Tomorrow, August 29th to be precise, is Gamer’s Day. And in light of the date, an unexpected company has decided to get involved in the celebrations: Burger King. It turns out that the brand has created a campaign to exchange a burnt part of a PC or video game for a grilled Whopper.

The exchange is made at no additional cost and can be done at any of the chain’s restaurants that are listed on the franchise’s official website. Find out more details and how to make this exchange!

Burger King swaps part for burger

In celebration of Gamer’s Day, on August 29, anyone can exchange a burnt-out electronic part or component that previously belonged to a computer or video game console for a Whooper at Burger King. But to participate, you need to keep an eye on some details of the promotion.

One thing to note is that this will only happen on August 29, that is, on Thursday. Furthermore, not every Burger King restaurant will participate in this promotion. According to the table shown in the promotion post, the cities that will have participating restaurants are Brasília, Florianópolis, São José, Palhoça, São Paulo, Curitiba, Rio de Janeiro and Porto Alegre. Check out the locations below:

Another important point is that only one exchange per CPF will be valid, that is, each person can only exchange one item for one burger.

Finally, it is important to note that this action has a limited distribution of only 150 CPFs per company-owned restaurants and 50 CPFs per franchisee. In other words, the first 150 people who show up to exchange their items will take the burger to the company’s own restaurants. After that, it will no longer be valid.

Celebrating Gamer’s Day with Eco-Consciousness

Burger King revealed that these exchanged parts will be recycled, and the entire collection and recycling process will be carried out by ABREE, the Brazilian Association for the Recycling of Electronics and Household Appliances.

With that, the real idea is, in addition to guaranteeing extra fun and a “gift” for gamers on Gamer’s Day, also to encourage environmental awareness with the recycling of electronics.

Many people end up keeping some components and parts that are burnt out with the intention of trying to fix them or make them work again for a lower price than buying a new one. However, this can lead to incorrect disposal, which can be harmful.

Recycling electronics is important to reduce the problem of e-waste, which contains toxic and non-biodegradable materials. By recycling these devices, we prevent soil and water contamination with hazardous substances such as mercury and lead, and reduce the demand for the extraction of new natural resources, such as rare earth metals.

Furthermore, recycling also helps in the circular economy, as it encourages the reuse of components and the reduction of waste, which is essential for the sustainability of the planet and the preservation of the environment for future generations.

In other words, on Gamer’s Day, residents of the listed cities who have a burnt part at home will be able to enjoy a free hamburger and, as a bonus, will also ensure that the part is disposed of correctly.
