Mod support is a significant addition for Baldur’s Gate 3 fans. With the new toolkit, players will be able to create new items, classes, subclasses, races, and more. This feature promises to further expand the game’s possibilities, especially by ensuring that the community can unleash their creativity.
Ever since the days of World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade and Dragon Age: Origins, modders have been finding ways to enhance their gaming experiences. But the idea of creating mods from scratch has always been intimidating for many, even the most passionate.
However, Larian Studios has shared feedback from modders who have revealed how easy the new kit is to use, which should encourage more players to try their hand at modding. For some, this could mean the opportunity to turn their fanfiction into playable content in-game.
New co-op and narrative features
In addition to mod support, Patch 7 will introduce an innovative dynamic split-screen co-op feature. This feature will allow two split screens to merge into one when players are close to each other, providing a more fluid and immersive co-op gaming experience. The demo of the feature has already impressed many with its functionality and the way it improves player interaction.
On the narrative front, Patch 7 will bring adjustments and updates to companion stories, dialogue, and romance content. Larian Studios is also adding new cinematics that illustrate some of the game’s darker endings for origin and dark impulse characters, further enriching the game’s narrative.
Baldur’s Gate 3 will still have more patches
While this update may seem like Larian’s final farewell to Baldur’s Gate 3, the studio has assured that patch 7 will not be the game’s last update. In the future, players can expect additional features like cross-play and photo mode.
In the meantime, Larian is offering players the opportunity to test out patch 7 ahead of its official release by participating in a closed beta available on the Baldur’s Gate 3 Steam page.
