Ayaneo announces new dock with Radeon RX 7600M XT for US$599

Ayaneo announced this week its newest external GPU dock, the Starship Graphics Dock. The product already comes with a Radeon RX 7600M XT installed and has an OCuLink interface, to guarantee maximum performance from the video card connected via the cable.

The Radeon RX 7600M XT is made for notebooks and has 32 RDNA 3 CUs, in addition to 8GB of GDDR6 memory (at 128-bit). The card can handle up to 120W, so Ayaneo included a button in its dock that rotates, so the user can choose between 100W and 120W whenever they want.

The Starship Graphics Dock tries to be more attractive by offering more connections to the user. Thus, it has a PCIe 3.0 port for M.2 2280 SSDs, as well as a connector for USB4 at 40Gbps, and another for USB 3.1 Gen2, at 10Gbps. Ayaneo also placed an SD card slot and an RJ45 network port on its dock.

VideoCardz points out, however, that these extra connections can only be taken advantage of by connecting the dock via USB. In other words, the user will need to sacrifice the maximum performance offered by OCuLink in this case. Ayaneo has promised its Starship Graphics Dock for November this year, for US$599 (R$3,426).

Ayaneo’s new dock resembles OneXGPU

Attentive readers may have remembered the OneXGPU when reading the details about Ayaneo’s Starship Graphics Dock. The two docks are practically identical, including the built-in GPU they offer, the Radeon RX 7600M XT. Even the listing price is the same: $599.

The main difference is that the OneXGPU was launched last year, when the GPU was still a more interesting novelty. Arriving a year “late”, it becomes more difficult for Ayaneo’s product to be attractive.

The price, however, can become a differentiator. While the OneXGPU was announced for US$599, it is difficult to find it for this price nowadays. Thus, Ayaneo’s product can be more accessible at launch.
