Asus today revealed a new EVO plate based on the RX 9070 Prime design. Generally, the company does not add revisions or versions to its video cards, referring to them as “evolutions.”
And the Evo series is usually launched for dual models, which often present cosmetic changes in the cooler or pcb.
The plate comes with specifications identical to the original version. It has the GPU RX 9070 (NAVI 48) with 3584 nuclei, 16 GB of GDDR6 memory running at 20 Gbps and two GPU clock configurations: the OC model at 2140/2160 MHz and the standard model at 2120/2590 MHz.
The speeds refer to the game clocks and Boost, respectively.

In short, it is the same plate with the same specifications. There are small adjustments that are probably related to manufacturing and not performance improvements. Asus has not yet listed any other Prime Evo model, but it is expected that an RX 9070 XT EVO will appear sooner or later.

It also keeps the design with 2.5 slots thick. After all, the Prime series is part of Nvidia’s Small Form Factor Ready program and still uses Three Axial-Tech fans. Longer blades technology improves air flow and dispersion.
Refrigeration is combined with a premium GPU thermal pad that derre and fill the gaps between the GPU and the thermal module. It comes with phase change that aims to improve thermal conductivity, ensuring performance and longevity for video cards under heavy loads.

With double BIOS, users can prioritize low nucleus temperatures or low noise levels. Just press a button to do the change between performance mode and silent mode.
Since all three fans stop when GPU temperatures are below 55 ° C, users are guaranteed that lighter work and less demanding games will not generate noise. When overcoming the 60ºC, the fans call again and follow a speed curve that balances performance and noise.
Changes regarding the original model

The main change is the width of the printed circuit board (PCB), which has shifted The two power connectors of 8 pins slightly to the cooler area.
There are also minor changes to the rear plate with the hole positions of the adjusted screws. The Prime logo has been moved to the side, but it is an unin -significant change. The design of the I/O support is also different, So it is probably easier to simply look at the updated images.
A slight change in the heat sink is also visible. The new model seems to have a shorter primary heat sinker and contains a wider secondary section. However, the general number of fins does not seem significantly different.
