Asus Rog Astral RTX 5090 is one of the most expensive and advanced models in the RTX 50 series, and has now gained a new version for those looking for a cleaner build and cableless. Expanding its BTF line, Asus has announced a new GPU variant with the GC-HPWR (Graphics Card High-Power) connector.
The GC-HPWR connector made its debut along with the brand’s BTF line. It is an adapter that can be fitted or removed at the bottom of the plate to connect with a power supplier connection to compatible motherboards. The new Rog Astral RTX 5090 BTF Edition brings the newest version 2.5 of the connector, which supports up to 1,000W.
Obviously, the GPU maintains the traditional 16 -pin connector for power supply. In motherboards not compatible with the BTF format, the user can simply unleash the GC-HPWR and connect Rog Astral by the usual method. ASUS does not report the TGP of its 5090, but recommends a 1,000W source for the board.
Rog Astral RTX 5090 BTF Edition maintains other specifications
The new connector to help keep hidden cables is the only difference in the new edition of Asus Rog Astral RTX 5090. The plate keeps its 32GB GDDR7 memory and the 2.580MHz Boost Clock in default mode and can reach 2,610mHz in OC mode.

The design is also basically the same, including the fourth fan on the back of the plate, one of the great differentials of Asus’s new astral line, which made its debut in the RTX 50 generation. According to the company, this extra fan can help boost the flow and air pressure up to 20% in the astral GPUS.
Despite maintaining the characteristics of the standard model, the Rog Astral RTX 5090 BTF Edition is most likely to be released a little more expensive by the GC-HPWR connector. Asus, however, has not yet revealed the official price of the new sign.
