ASUS has released a new official website for the ExpertBook P5 (P5405), its new notebook aimed at work and professional use. What is most striking about this case is that the website clearly states that this is the brand’s first device with Intel Lunar Lake.
The manufacturer claims that the product features a “next-generation” Intel Core Ultra, with an NPU that exceeds 45 TOPs. Based on this description, ASUS can only be talking about the Intel Core Ultra 200V, based on Lunar Lake. The official name of the processor generation, however, is not mentioned.
But a notebook doesn’t just rely on a processor. In addition to using Lunar Lake, the new ExpertBook P5 will be launched with RAM options of up to 32GB, accompanied by up to 3TB of storage. There are two SSD slots, with part of the capacity soldered to the board.
The display has thin bezels, 2.5K resolution in an undisclosed size, with a frequency of up to 144Hz and anti-glare technology.
ASUS doesn’t talk about the battery, but it does highlight some of the notebook’s technologies. It offers Wi-Fi 7 as standard, has biometrics on the camera for security and has a dedicated TPM 2.0. The manufacturer also promises an “improved” cooling system, which works well whether the device is open or closed. It weighs 1.3 kg.
The ExpertBook P5 is scheduled to be launched in the second half of 2024. Therefore, ASUS has not yet announced official prices for the product.
Although the manufacturer prefers to leave the launch window somewhat vague for its new notebook, specific rumors about the Lunar Lake generation of processors point to the third quarter of 2024. It is possible that the ExpertBook P5 will be among the first notebooks to use Core Ultra 200V processors, so the device would also arrive around that time.
Intel needs to hurry, because notebooks using the Ryzen AI 300 rivals are apparently already on the way.
