ASUS was the first motherboard manufacturer to release a beta BIOS firmware update to address issues seen in Intel’s microcode version “126” for 13th and 14th Gen CPUs.
According to the notes made available by the company, the update aims to bring version “129” of the microcodes and acts as a response to the instability issues that have affected the Raptor Lake and Raptor Lake Refresh processors. In addition, the update also brings improvements to the motherboard’s system performance.
ASUS and Intel’s goal is to prevent instability and degradation from continuing to cause headaches for users. The BIOS update aims to reverse the high voltage routing on the chip – causing it to degrade and oxidize over time.

Updating your ASUS motherboards is essential if you have recently purchased an Intel processor and want to prevent oxidation degradation issues. However, if you are already experiencing instability issues, we recommend that you open a customer service call or seek warranty coverage.
