ASUS launches RTX 4070 Ti Super with AD102 GPU and SFF design

ASUS launched its new Prime RTX 4070 Ti Super this week, in the SFF format of “smaller” cards established by NVIDIA. The model apparently features an AD102 GPU, accompanied by 16GB of GDDR6X memory. Unsurprisingly, the most advanced models of the RTX 4070 still include the “X version” of the memories.

The manufacturer did not disclose the GPU used in the model, which is normal in new product announcements. However, the folks at VideoCardz recognized the capacitor layout as being from the AD102, which is different from the AD103, a GPU previously used in RTX 4070 Ti Super models.

The new card features 8,448 CUDA cores and we still don’t have official clock information. The website, however, estimates a boost of up to 2,640MHz for the standard model and up to 2,655MHz for the OC model of the new ASUS Prime RTX 4070 Ti Super. The standard clock remains at 2,340MHz.

We also didn’t have any information on how much the cards will cost. It seems that at this point ASUS just wants to highlight that the model exists and show off its looks. After all, as mentioned before, it’s an SFF model. This means that the card measures 300 x 120 x 50mm (2.5 slots), which is considered compact by NVIDIA.

RTX 4070 Ti Super models using the RTX 4090 GPU – a modified version, obviously – have now become common. MSI was one of the first to appear, but Zotac also has one and we are seeing ASUS’ announcement this week.

Speaking of the company, it’s worth remembering that ASUS’ Prime line of cards was one of the first used to promote the SFF form factor, back when NVIDIA’s program was just starting out.
