ASUS announces ProArt PA401 Wood Edition, smaller variant of the PA602 case

ASUS this week announced its newest mid-tower case, the ProArt PA401 Wood Edition. The case is a reduced variant of the already launched PA602, featuring wooden details on its front panel that put the Wood Edition in the name. In this new version, buyers can choose between metal and tempered glass for the side panel.

The ProArt PA401 Wood Edition measures 412 x 225 x 503mm and weighs 8.61kg disassembled. Despite the small size, ASUS guarantees that it still holds high-performance components for PC enthusiasts. Therefore, check out some of the measures supported by the new case below:

• Motherboard: ATX
• Maximum CPU cooler height: 160mm
• Maximum GPU length: 315mm
• Maximum font length: 170mm

ASUS highlights that the graphics card can be installed both horizontally and vertically, but does not mention the riser cable. The ProArt PA401 already comes with two large 160mm fans installed on the front, and in the image below you can see the spaces for more fans:

Air flow is a point on which the manufacturer focuses a lot when promoting the ProArt PA401. The case, however, does not offer many options for installing radiators for liquid cooling, housing these components only on the top.

ProArt PA401 Wood Edition tries to make PC assembly easier

ASUS talks a lot about aesthetics when promoting its new case, but the manufacturer includes some practical features to make it easier to assemble. The side panel, for example, comes off without screws, with the simple push of a button. For safety, it has a lock to prevent accidental release.

More cabinets:

There are four drive bays, two for 2.5” and two others compatible with both 2.5” and 3.5”, and all of them can be installed without tools. The case also has clips to help with cable management, both inside and on the back.

Unfortunately, ASUS has not yet released the official price for the ProArt PA401 Wood Edition, nor the date on which it intends to bring the product to stores.
