AMD made the official announcement of its new series of graphics cards at CES 2024, introducing the Radeon RX 9070 XT and RX 9070. However, it was not yet a complete launch of the products, saying little about their details and without offering a date for reach the stores. Thus, the revelation of the TUF and Prime models from ASUS ended up confirming unprecedented information: the 16GB capacity of the cards.
ASUS introduced a total of four SKUs based on RDNA 4. Both the TUF and Prime variants feature Radeon RX 9070 XT and non-XT models, and all are OC Edition. All cards have 16GB of VRAM, as indicated in the description on the website:
“Equipped with the latest RDNA 4 architecture and a generous 16GB of RAM, these graphics cards promise premium gaming experiences for years to come,” says the ASUS text, in free translation.
The models have very similar designs, in black with gray details and three fans for air cooling. On the Prime model of the Radeon RX 9070 XT it is possible to see the presence of three 8-pin power connectors. It is not possible to confirm that TUF uses the same configuration, but we can say that it is likely.
Radeon RX 9070 XT and non-XT arrive in the first quarter
The AMD Radeon RX 9000 models announced by ASUS also include thermal pads that change phase to optimize heat transfer, and a BIOS switch button, for quick switching between performance profiles or noise reduction.
Unfortunately, we no longer have additional information about the Radeon RX 9070 XT or RX 9070. We will probably need to wait even longer for a specific launch window announcement before AIBs can talk about their products in greater detail.
