During CES 2025, Samsung Display revealed new QD-OLED panels. Right away, ASUS, Alienware, Gigabyte and MSI announced their new monitors that will use QD-OLED panels from Samsung Displays.

Among the panels presented by Samsung Displays is the 27-inch model with 4K resolution and 240Hz refresh rate, being the first in the world with these specifications, and a 27-inch model with QHD resolution and an impressive 500Hz refresh rate.

For their monitors, the different companies chose the panels that best suited the proposal, with some developing more than one monitor using different panels.

ASUS

Asus has announced the ROG Swift OLED PG27UCDM, marking its entry into the 27-inch 4K OLED gaming monitor market. The model has a 26.5-inch OLED panel with 4K resolution (3840 x 2160), 240Hz refresh rate and 0.03ms response time (GtG).

The display is also equipped with a custom heatsink and intelligent voltage optimization to manage heat effectively, reducing the risk of burn-in and extending the lifespan of the OLED.

He promises to achieve a maximum brightness of 1,000 nits, supports Dolby Vision, covers 99% of the DCI-P3 color space and maintains a Delta E < 2 color differenceensuring accurate and vibrant color reproduction. The monitor also includes ergonomic adjustments and a distinct aesthetic in line with Asus’ ROG brand identity.

Alienware

On Alienware’s part, the company launched the AW2725Q monitor, with a 27 inches with QD-OLED technology and 4K resolution, 240Hz refresh rate and a 0.3ms response time.

The monitor supports Dolby Vision HDR and comes with VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400 certification. Compatible with Nvidia G-Sync, AMD FreeSynch Premium Pro, and VESA AdaptiveSync certifications. Alienware claims the new model covers 99% of the DCI-P3 color space and has Delta E<2 color accuracy.

Connectivity options include 1x DisplayPort 1.4 port, 2x HDMI 2.1 ports (with one supporting HDMI 2.1 FRL with eARC/ARC to support Dolby Atmos passthrough), 3x USB Type-A downstream ports, 1x USB Type-B upstream port and 1x USB Type-C downstream port with 15W PD.

Gigabyte

As for Gigabyte, it introduced the MO27U2 and AORUS FO27Q5P models, both with 27-inch QD-OLED panels from Samsung Display. While the first has 4K resolution and 240Hz refresh ratethe second has QHD resolution and 500Hz refresh rate.

The AORUS FO27Q5P also comes with DisplayPort 2.1 UHBR20, which has a whopping 80Gbps bandwidth. The company has not yet revealed details about the prices and availability of the two monitors.

MSI

In turn, MSI also announced two new models: the MPG 272URX QD-OLED and the MPG 272QR QD-OLED X50. The MPG 272URX QD-OLED features a 27-inch display with 4K resolution (3840 x 2160), 240Hz refresh rate, and 0.03ms response time (GtG).

It covers 99% of DCI-P3 and 133% of the sRGB color space and supports VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400, achieving a maximum brightness of 1,000 nits. Connectivity options include two HDMI 2.1 ports, a DisplayPort 2.1 port, and a USB-C port with 90W power delivery, accommodating a variety of devices.

Additionally, MSI’s OLED Care 2.0 technology is onboard to mitigate burn-in risks, and the monitor comes with a three-year warranty covering OLED-specific concerns.

The MPG 272QR QD-OLED X50 is aimed at eSports enthusiasts, offering a 27-inch WQHD (2560 x 1440) display with 500Hz refresh rate and the same fast 0.03ms (GtG) response time.

The QD-OLED panel provides 99% DCI-P3 and 139% sRGB color coverage. It also comes with VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500 certification for deep blacks and high contrast, along with the latest ClearMR 21000 certification to address motion blur.

Like MSI’s other model, it includes MSI’s OLED Care 2.0 technology and supports 80Gbps DisplayPort 2.1 for uncompressed high frame rate gaming.
