Like MSI and ASUS, ASRock is also making available a new BIOS update for its AM5 motherboards with the aim of preparing support for AMD Ryzen 9000 processors – scheduled to be launched this July.

For now, AMD’s AGESA 1.2.0.0 firmware has only been added to its flagship product, the X670E Taichi motherboard – which has arrived in version 3.04.AS01 (BETA). It’s important to note that, apart from the addition of support for upcoming CPUs, there are no major improvements in other aspects.

According to information from WCCFTECH, the update made available by ASRock for the BIOS of its motherboard is only 0.29MB more than the AMD AGESA 1.1.7.0 firmware version – with only a few changes in its internal coding.

It is also noted that AGESA 1.2.0.0 may likely be the most stable BIOS that will reach the public before the launch of AMD Ryzen 9000 processors.

It is also possible that, in the coming days, ASRock and other manufacturers working with AM5 motherboards will bring the firmware update to the other models based on the X670E, X670, B650E, B650 and A620 chipsets – thus ensuring better stability and performance for the new AMD desktop CPUs.

The new generation of ASRock motherboards

In addition to the update to its existing AM5 models, ASRock is also preparing to bring a new generation of motherboards to the market: the X870E and X870 models. Some of their models were revealed during Computex 2024 and are mainly aimed at native support for AMD Ryzen 9000 processors.

However, it is worth mentioning that while AMD’s hardware will hit the market in July, these motherboards will only arrive at a later date. Rumors suggest that they should arrive in September, accompanying the Ryzen 9000 X3D CPUs.

ASRock’s new models will maintain their lineup names, with “Taichi,” “Nova,” “Riptide,” “Steel Legend,” and “PRO” versions – featuring improved I/O capacity, faster memory support, and more powerful power delivery designs to keep the hardware stable and enhance its overclocking capabilities.
