A ASRock started releasing a new batch of stable BIOS updates for series motherboards 600 e 800preparing your current platforms to receive processors not yet officially announced and AMD and from Intel.
The new versions already appear on the manufacturer’s official support channels and confirm future compatibility through microcode and firmware updates.
The movement takes place on the eve of CES 2026an event where formal presentations of new CPUs are expected, and indicates an effort to extend the useful life of existing platforms without requiring an immediate change of motherboard.
AGESA update prepares AM5 boards for new Ryzen
In the ecosystem AMDASRock made BIOS available with AGESA ComboAM5 1.2.7.1 in steady state for a selection of motherboards AM5. The update covers models from the series X870, B850, B650 and even A620signaling early support for processors based on Zen 5.

Among the models officially listed with the new BIOS are X870 Nova WiFi, X870 Riptide WiFi, X870 Steel Legend WiFi, X870 Taichi Creatorin addition to signs such as B650 Pro RS e A620M-C R2.0.
The presence of the new AGESA is often interpreted as preparation for CPUs like Ryzen 9000X3D and possible APUs Zen 5which should extend the current line without changing the socket.
In technical notes published alongside the updates, ASRock informs that the objective is to ensure compatibility with future processorsmaintaining stability and full support for the features of the AM5 platform.
Intel Microcode Signals Support for Arrow Lake Refresh
The update also reaches boards with newer Intel chipsets. ASRock released new BIOS for models B860incorporating updated microcode and recent versions of Intel Management Enginedescribed as necessary for “upcoming processors”.

To date, confirmed boards include B860M-X Gen5 e B860M-X Gen5 WiFi. According to technical information and recent industry leaks, compatibility should span the family Arrow Lake Refreshwhich includes CPUs like Core Ultra 9 290K Plus, Core Ultra 7 270K Plus e Core Ultra 5 250K Plus.
The release follows a common pattern in the market: releasing basic support via BIOS before the official announcement of the CPUs, allowing systems already assembled to receive future upgrades without structural changes.
What changes in practice for those who already have an ASRock card
For current users, the new BIOS means preparation and optionnot an immediate obligation. Therefore, updates do not change physical specifications or automatically enable visible new features, but they ensure that the cards recognize and operate correctly with yet-to-be-released CPUs.
Experts recommend caution during the update process, using official methods such as Instant Flash or BIOS Flashbackespecially in production systems. ASRock maintains files available on its regional and global support pages.

Early compatibility as a long-cycle strategy
By releasing BIOSes with support for future CPUs even before official announcements from AMD and Intel, ASRock follows a market trend of extend the life cycle of platforms. In a scenario of high hardware costs, this approach gains weight among consumers and integrators.
With CES 2026 approaching, the expectation is that new 800 series cards and more 600 series models will receive similar updates in the coming days, bringing cross-compatibility between generations and reducing barriers for planned upgrades.
