ASRock Launches First Thin Mini-ITX Motherboard with AMD AM5 Socket

ASRock has launched its new X600TM-ITX motherboard, the first compact and thin motherboard with AMD AM5 socket – supporting Ryzen 7000, 8000 and the new 9000 models up to 65W.

Its I/O is 25mm, instead of the common 44mm, making the hardware simpler for assemblers to produce mini PCs. ITX models also use SODIMM memory and have support for an integrated onboard power supply – eliminating the need for an ATX power supply. The location for installing the CPU is also fixed.

It is important to note that ASRock’s X600TM-ITX motherboard has limited support for PCIe slots, so solutions that utilize the interface will require additional adapters – such as M.2. This is a particularity of this model, as other mini-ITX motherboards have more PCIe slots.

According to the specifications provided by the manufacturer, the hardware also supports two DDR5-6400 (OC) memories and can reach a maximum of 96GB. It offers four storage inputs: two Hyper M.2 (PCIe Gen4x4 and SATA 6Gb) and two SATA 6Gb.

ASRock has revealed that its X600TM-ITX has four USB ports, one USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-C, one USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-A and two USB 3.2 Gen1. Different connectivity options will be offered to the consumer at the time of purchase, with the option of having one or two HDMI ports, a DisplayPort or LVDS connectors.

New motherboard from ASRock

ASRock is marketing the X600TM-ITX motherboard as being intended for use with AMD Ryzen 8000G APUs – which already feature integrated graphics. Given the lack of PCIe slots, it is recommended that users do not intend to use it with high-end GPU solutions.

In this regard, the “Phoenix” line is the most suitable if you want to build your own mini-PC with the X600TM-ITX for gaming use.

ASRock’s motherboard also follows Intel specifications, being fully compatible with coolers and cooling solutions for Intel CPUs.
