An unnamed Intel Z890 motherboard from ASRock features support for DDR5-9200 RAM – which is impressive, as it’s faster than the best models currently available on the market.
The information was revealed by leaker “momomo_us“, who released some details about the new hardware. It will likely be part of the premium “Taichi” line and has four memory slots – which could be an ATX or microATX, which has not been confirmed.
He also claims that ASRock’s Intel Z890 motherboard will support DDR5-5600 using either a single or dual row of memory in a 1DPC (DIMM per channel) configuration. In a 2DPC configuration, it supports DDR5-4800 in a single row and DDR5-4400 in a dual row of memory modules.
As for memory overclocking, the motherboard can achieve DDR5-9200 in a 1DPC configuration with a single row of memory. However, DDR5-6800 support would remain more consistent for a dual-row 1DPC and single-row 2DPC layout – even though filling all memory slots with dual row would restrict the data rate for DDR5-5800.
If we compare ASRock’s new Intel Z890 motherboard with the Z790 Taichi version – which had memory support up to DDR5-7200 – this new, yet-to-be-named model with DDR5-9200 capability shows a major generational leap.

More information about this mysterious Intel Z890 motherboard from ASRock is likely to come in October, as the 24th of next month will be their official launch.
The presence of a mainboard with DDR5-9200 support also suggests that Intel Arrow Lake (Core Ultra 200) processors may have improved Integrated Memory Control (IMC) – designed to better handle faster DDR5.
The leaker also revealed that ASRock’s Intel Z890 motherboard will also feature several other features – such as Intel XMP, Thermal Speed Boost, Adaptive Boost Technology, and Turbo Boost – which users will find as standard on all new high-end models.
