The iGPU Arc 140V “Xe2”, which will accompany the Intel Core Ultra 7 258V CPU, underwent some benchmark tests in Vulkan (Geekbench 6) and had its performance compared to that seen on the NVIDIA GTX 1650.

Even though it may just be an engineering build, its final results shouldn’t stray too far from what’s being seen in the benchmark. According to the data presented, its clock reaches 1.95 GHz and uses 17W of TDP in PL1 and 30W in PL2.

With a score of 34,181 points, the iGPU Arc 140V is just a few points below the GTX 1650 GPU and above what is seen in the AMD Radeon 780M – based on RDNA 3 architecture. For the test, an Intel reference evaluation platform for LNL-M chips was used, with 32 GB of on-package LPDDR5X memory.

It is worth noting that the iGPU will compete with the RDNA 3.5 architecture of the integrated graphics of the Ryzen AI 300 line – which should bring faster performance and an increase in the number of computing units compared to the previous generation.

Intel’s Arc 140V will arrive with 8 Xe2 cores, but the main difference between the model and the others that will arrive in Lunar Lake CPUs is the clock speed – reaching its peak with the Core Ultra 9 288V at 2.05 GHz. Considering that there is still time until its launch, things could improve with improvements via drivers.

The Xe2 architecture of Intel Lunar Lake CPUs is the debut of the “Battlemage” graphics, which includes the Arc 140V. With them, the manufacturer aims for a big leap in performance, already stating that they would bring a 50% increase – in addition to some features that include a higher speed of ray tracing performance.

Although there is no official release date, leaks indicate that they will bring their new generation of processors with Xe2 graphics in September – after the Intel Innovation event. It is important to note that the “Lunar Lake” line is aimed at notebooks and mobile, while “Arrow Lake” will arrive on desktops.

The manufacturer is also working on discrete versions of its future Battlemage GPUs, but there is still not much official information about them and when we will see them on sale on the market.
