Apple announced that parts and tools for the iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max are now available at its self-service store for repairs in the United States and several European countries.
The news arrives seven weeks after the launch of the devices, and is good news for consumers, as they will have more opportunity to carry out repairs on their own devices with original Apple parts.

Apple Self-Service Program
The new feature arrives to further improve the purpose of Apple’s self-service program, which was launched in 2022. The idea is that consumers can easily access genuine parts, specialized tools and manuals for repairing iPhones, Macs and Studio Display .
But even though the program has been well received by many users who want more freedom to repair their devices, Apple makes it clear that it is intended for people with experience in the complexities of electronic repairs.
The company warns that not all consumers may feel comfortable carrying out these procedures and encourages less experienced consumers to seek professional assistance at authorized stores.
Parts and tools available with safety manuals
Now, with the arrival of new parts and the tools offered by the program, users can now carry out various types of repairs, including changing the screen, battery, rear camera system, TrueDepth camera for Face ID, rear glass, top -speakers and main microphone.
For those who prefer not to buy the tools, Apple also offers a seven-day rental service for the necessary kits, priced at US$49 for all iPhone 16 models.
Repair manuals for new iPhone models had already been released by Apple in September, and now, with parts and tools available, users can follow the instructions to carry out repairs safely and effectively. These manuals contain detailed guidance as well as important safety warnings, including possible risks involved in handling certain electronic components.
Easier repairs for users
Apple’s self-service program comes as yet another industry response to the “right to repair”, which for many people can be a turning point in the way they care for and maintain their devices. This movement aims especially to make it easier for consumers to access the repair of electronic devices, especially those who already have some experience with this type of maneuver.
In addition to reducing dependence on specialized technical assistance for some simpler repairs, it also allows many to end up saving in this aspect. And with companies offering genuine parts through an official program, the process becomes more reliable.
