Apple gives evidence that there will be no M4 ultra chip

Apple recently revealed Mac Studio with the M4 Max or M3 Ultra chip. And considering that the M4 Max chip does not have the Ultrafusion connector, it is supposed to be no M4 Ultra chip. And that could be the reason the company opts for the M3 Ultra.

Even if there are no benchmarks available, the information is that M3 Ultra is the company’s most powerful processor so far. Previously, it was speculated that the company would release the new Mac Studio with an Ultra M4 Chip, but now everything suggests that it has decided to follow another direction and probably there will be no M4 Ultra.

To the French technology site Numeama, an Apple spokesman has stated that the M4 MAX chip does not have the Ultrafusion connector, an essential element that allows two chips to connect. And that would be the main reason why the company decided to use the M3 Ultra instead of developing an “ultra” series of Chipes M4.

Apple could still manufacture new M4 chips with an ultrafusion connector, but according to the information available, the company minimized this possibility. There is a great chance that the company skip the M4 Ultra chip completely and advances to the M5 Ultra.

The company has already stated that not every series of Mc chips for Mac will have an “ultra” variant. And even if users have seen the M1 Ultra and M2 Ultra chips, besides the M3 Ultra, it seems that the company is open to the idea of ​​jumping the M4 Ultra.
