AMD’s next generation of Apus, currently known as Medusa Point, should not use the RDNA 4 architecture for its integrated charts. This is information that has appeared more than once in leaks, and now we have even more indicate that the newest version of the GPUs AMD will continue only on the dedicated boards for now.
The leak comes from the latest update of AMDGPU Library, which shows a new IGPU designated as GFX1153. To understand the code, it is important to know that the Strix Halo generation had its integrated graphics designated as GFX1151, while the Krackan Point appeared as GFX1152. These two lines use RDNA 3.5, so GFX115X seems to be the code for architecture.

This is just another indication in a list that has been indicating for a while that we won’t see RDNA 4 in Medusa Point. To begin with, AMD representatives have officially said in an interview that the company has no plans to launch Apus with the new architecture anytime soon.
In addition, earlier this month we had a post from the famous “Leak” Golden Pig Upgrade Pack ”stating that Medusa Point would come with RDNA 3.x, not RDNA 4.
Apus Medusa Point will use the same RDNA 3.5 of Strix Halo?
Golden Pig’s comment in early March mentioned an integrated GPU RDNA 3.x for Medusa Point. What caught the attention in the post was the fact that “x” appeared, instead of talking about RDNA 3.5 at a time.

It seemed like an indication that we could see a revised version of the architecture, with a different number for Medusa Point. Subsequent leaks, however, point to the very same generation of graphs that already appear in Strix Halo for AMD’s new Apuss as well.
Related News:
We still know very little about Medusa Point. The rumors and leaks are at its beginning, and we haven’t had anything from AMD itself yet. Recently, in fact, we had the company’s appearance of the company talking about Gorgon Point, a Refresh for Strix Point that should appear before the Medusa.
