AMD is working on two new Ryzen 9000X3D processors and at least one of them will attract a lot of attention. This is what the current rumor states, which mentions the new Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 and Ryzen 7 9850X3D – the “X3D2” in the name of the first model would indicate the presence of double 3D V-Cache.
The information comes from Chi11eddog, who has a good track record in the world of leaks, but it is still a rumor and should be treated as such. He mentions that the two new processors would be on the way, revealing their details:
- Ryzen 9 9950X3D2: 16 núcleos e 32 threads | 4,3GHz base e 5,6GHz boost | 200W de TDP | 192MB de cache L3
- Ryzen 7 9850X3D: 8 núcleos e 16 threads | 4,7GHz base e 5,6GHz boost | 120W de TDP | 96MB de cache L3
AMD bets even more on 3D V-Cache
The number of Ryzen components in the X3D line indicates that AMD is happy with the reception of these products. If the current rumor is confirmed, we will have a new processor at the top of the Ryzen 9000 line, bringing much more cache than the 9950X3D.
It is also interesting to remember that there is the Ryzen Threadripper 9960X, so the company does not have many commercial naming options to place a processor above the Ryzen 9 9950X3D and still make it clear that it is not a Threadripper variant.

The impact of the extra cache on TDP also draws attention, since the supposed Ryzen 9 9950X3D maintains the same base clock as the 9950X3D, but reduces the boost clock by 100MHz, while having a 30W higher TDP.
“King of games” could get an enhanced version
The second model in the leak also deserves a lot of attention because it is based on the Ryzen 7 9800X3D, currently considered the best option for gaming machines. It’s no longer the most powerful X3D CPU in the line, but it already delivers everything the user needs to play at its best.

Maybe that’s why AMD wants to take advantage of this success and launch a slightly larger version of the processor. The Ryzen 7 9850X3D that appears in the rumor has the same specifications as the already available model, but with a considerable gain of 400MHz in boost clock.
