AMD sold 3 times more CPUS than Intel in Amazon in March

AMD remains the favorite option of processor buyers on US Amazon. Last month, March, the Ryzen sold three times more than their competitors from Intel and AMD earned a five -time income than their competitor.

The information was released by Techepiphany, who got a spreadsheet with the CPUS sales list on Amazon last month, with details for each model offered. Based on the information, the account makes the following highlights:

Units:
– AMD: 31.600 (78.74%)
– Intel: 7.500 (21.26%)

Income:
– AMD: US$ 7.813.637
– Intel: US$ 1.574.345

Average selling price (ASP)
– AMD: US$ 247,24
– Intel: US$ 209,91

As we can see in the information above, even in the average sales price AMD did better than Intel. Probably the number was widely driven by the Ryzen 7 9800x3D, which costs $ 479 and was the best -selling processor on Amazon in March, with more than 6,000 units distributed.

The second and third position are also AMD, with the Ryzen 5 5500 and the Ryzen 7 7800x3d, respectively. Intel will only appear in fourth place with Intel Core I5-12400F and then the list is dominated by AMD.

List does not yet include AMD’s new line of line

Without explaining why, Techepiphany mentions that the Ryzen 9 9950x3d and 9900x3D were not included in the Amazon sales report. It is likely to be because these options appeared on March 11, and the comparison wanted to cover the entire period.

Being high-end products with high values, it’s hard to imagine that they would have made a big difference in the list in the first month. But it would be interesting to assess whether they have an impact on Ryzen 7 9800x3D sales, which dominates sales with a lot of difference today. The title of “King of Gamers” seems to translate into king of sales as well.
