AMD finally officially revealed the release date and prices for the first three processors of its Ryzen ThreadRipper 9000X line, focused on high performance desktops (HEDT). They are models compatible with TRX50 plates and geared towards creators and enthusiasts who work on their PCs and seek overclocking.
Basically, new processors are more accessible “non -Pro” options than the Threadripper Pro 9000wx series, presented last week. They bring options with 64, 32 and 24 cores – which is very curious, as it has a 16 -core 9000wx model, but Ryzen ThreadRipper 9000X won’t offer such an option at the release.
The new processors arrive on July 31, at the following prices:
- AMD Ryzen Threadripper 9980X: US$ 4.999 (R$ 27.779)

As it could not be missed, AMD has released some performance comparatives of its new Ryzen Threadripper 9000X with models of its Intel rival. As always, such internal tests show the most favorable situations possible for the products the company wants to promote, so it’s good to keep an eye on new third party comparisons after processors make their official debut.
Above we have tests with the most advanced threadripper 9980x model, and below with the 9970x intermediate. Unfortunately, AMD did not compare with the 9960X input option.
