The AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 395 appeared again in a benchmark test leak, with very promising results. The device reportedly used in the test is the new version of the ASUS ROG Flow Z13, which is expected to launch soon with the Strix Halo APU. The notebook passed Geekbench, offering new numbers for processor performance.

As shown in the screenshot below, in the new leak the Ryzen AI Max+ 395 scores 2,928 in single and 19,484 in multi. It appears with a base clock of 3.0GHz, while the boost promises to reach up to 5.1GHz. It’s worth remembering that this is the second most powerful APU in the line, according to rumors. The component is only below another SKU with the same name, but in the PRO version.

The curious thing about the new test is that this time the APU achieved a slightly better result in its single core score, while it did a little worse in multi. This difference positions the processor much better in single and does not sacrifice its position as much in multi, as shown in the WCCFTech graphs:

The Ryzen AI Max+ 395 appears in the comparison followed by numbers #1 to indicate the first leak and #2 to indicate this one. We can see that the updated results place the APU ahead of the Ryzen 7000 in the comparison both in single and multi.

Ryzen Strix Halo processors draw attention to their GPU

The results for the Ryzen AI Max+ 395 on Geekbench are promising, but expectations about the Strix Halo series are mainly due to its integrated graphics.

Since its first leaks, AMD’s next series of APUs will apparently use somewhat larger iGPUs, which should even mark the debut of a new nomenclature. Therefore, it is expected that the Ryzen AI Max+ 395 will come with a Radeon 8060S, which can surpass the already very competent Radeon 880M and even the Radeon 890M.

More about Strix Halo:

The new Strix Halo line processors should be part of AMD’s announcements for CES 2025.
