The first mini PC powered by an AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370, the strongest SKU in the lineup (so far), has been tested and shows promising performance from the Radeon 890M iGPU. In games in Full HDthe top-of-the-line RDNA 3.5 integrated graphics deliver more than 60 FPS in heavy games, but with the appropriate adjustments.
ETA Prime got its hands on a Souyo S9 and was able to test AMD’s new hardware in synthetic benchmarks and games. Regarding the latter, seven games were tested, all recent and heavy, with some using AMD FSR, others using AFMF (AMD’s frame generator) and almost all with the minimum graphics preset.
Yes, as much as the Radeon 890M is an iGPU that has surprised with its graphics processing capacity, especially considering that it is part of an APU, it still has its limitations. In this mini PC, AMD’s APU is configured at 65W.
The results obtained by the ETA Prime channel with the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 were as follows:
- 3DMark Time Spy (graphics): 3,792 points
- Steel Nomad: 625 pontos
- 3DMark Fire Strike (graphics): 10.319
- Cyberpunk 2077 (1080p, low, balanced FSR): 74 FPS media
- Starfield (1080p, baixo, FSR 50%, AFMF): 78 FPS media
- Hogwarts Legacy (1080p, low, balanced FSR): 72 FPS media
- Mortal Kombat 1 (1080p, medium, FSR balanced): Constant 60 FPS (game limit)
- Horizon Forbidden West (1080p, baixo, AFMF): 55-65 FPS
- Ghost of Tsushima (1080p, medium, FSR 3.1 balanced, AFMF): 64-74 FPS
- Red Dead Redemption 2 (1080p, Low, Balanced FSR): 76 FPS media
The results are impressive for an integrated graphics chip. In many of these games, you might even consider using a higher graphics preset with 60 FPS performance in mind, since the average achieved by the Radeon 890M was considerably higher than that value.
The Souyo S9 is also equipped with three M.2 slots, USB 4 and LPDDR5X memories with 16 GB, 32 GB and 64 GB versions, with speeds between 6400 and 7500 MT/s, something that the company responsible has not yet decided, since it is still a prototype and, therefore, has no release date or price for now.
The AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 with the Radeon 890M is also available in notebooks on the world market, but, as usual, it is still difficult to find in Brazil.
