AMD Ryzen 9000g Series can actually be a Refresh from the Ryzen 8000g

In March this year we had the leakage that AMD prepares new apus for desktop, a possible Ryzen 9000g processor series. Now, however, new rumors indicate that the company actually works in a refresh of the already launched Ryzen 8000g, without major changes in hardware specifications.

The information comes from an insider at the chiphell forum, being released by another known insider, hxl (@9550pro). It was HXL itself that first spoke of the alleged Ryzen 9000g in March this year.

If the information is confirmed and AMD is really just focusing on a Refresh for the Ryzen 8000g, we’ll see Zen 4 -based components, more precisely on CPUS Hawk Point generation.

Current Apuss are based on Strix Point and, more advanced models, Strix Halo. Thus, there was expectations to see even these processors with more “sturdy” IGPUS coming to the desktop. But it seems that the best Strix Halo option for the DIY segment will still be the Sixunited boards.

Ryzen Refresh 8000g Terá competitive values?

The idea of choosing a refresh of the Ryzen 8000g processors instead of again hardware may be indicative that AMD will want to offer APU options for desktop at affordable. Remember that last year the original models of the 8000G series had cuts in the values.

An interesting point that cannot be ignored is that AMD usually does not refresh for its lines G, according to Videocardz. If the rumor is still correct and the company intends to open an exception to the Ryzen 8000g, it may be indicative that this line has been more successful than previous generations.

The question is, if the revised models of 8000g are successful, it will take time to see the Zen 5 appearing in officially optimized apus for the desktop anytime soon. Maybe AMD ends up jumping the generation, as you have done with the Ryzen 6000.
