We may be close to announcing new CPUs AMD Ryzen 9000 for desktop, which should happen next week, during the Computex 2024in Taipei, capital of Taiwan.
Although this information should be treated as a rumor, the presentation of the new processors from AMD at one of the biggest technology fairs in the world, it has the potential to be one of the biggest announcements of this first half of the year.
AMD Ryzen 9000 Desktop CPUs Coming Next Week?
Through the Chiphell forum, the leaker identified as a user wjm47196 – known for previous leaks that came to fruition -, stated that AMD will reveal its next generation processor models based on núcleos Zen 5. They would be the AMD Ryzen 9000 “Granite Ridge” CPUs, available in four configurations, the main one being 16 cores and with variants of 12, 8 and 6 cores.
If this happens, we can expect that the models will resemble the layout of the Ryzen 7000 series: Ryzen 9 9950X (16 cores); Ryzen 9 9900X (12 cores); Ryzen 7 9700X (8 cores); Ryzen 5 9600X (6 cores).
Following the schedule, AMD would announce its Ryzen 9000 line at Computex, next week, and launch these new models the following month, in July. A mobile variant would be launched in August, also featuring Zen5 cores.
Brands like Gigabyte e ASRock have already confirmed that the new models will be launched with the Ryzen 9000 nomenclature, indicating that AMD has skipped the Ryzen 8000 series in relation to the AM5 CPUs. Others indicate that the 700 series chipsets will also suffer the same fate, with the company moving directly to the 800 series.
This supposed announcement puts AMD ahead of Intel regarding the launch of the Arrow Lake series, which should arrive at the end of the third quarter or beginning of the fourth quarter of 2024.
