AMD Ryzen 9000 CPUs saw a significant performance jump in tests performed on Windows 11 version 24H2, reinforcing that the operating system update will indeed solve one of the biggest issues with this release.

YouTuber “Hardware Unboxed” tested the Ryzen 7 7700X (Zen4) and the new Ryzen 7 9700X (Zen5), both in the 23H2 and the latest versions of Windows 11, showing a performance increase of up to 11% of the new processors in multiple games running at 1080p resolution. Check out the video below:

The new benchmark is revealed a few weeks after the launch of AMD Ryzen 9000 CPUs, which disappointed part of the public due to the short jump seen in relation to the previous generation – showing that processors like the Ryzen 9 7950X obtained similar results to the Ryzen 9 9950X, with a much lower sales value.

With several criticisms and complaints about this small difference between the two generations, they admitted that the results seen were not satisfactory and promised an update aimed at AMD Ryzen 9000 CPUs in Windows 11 24H2 (which is in preview version) to resolve the issue. Apparently, this update is already available.

AMD Ryzen CPU Performance Improvements

This update promised by AMD not only serves to improve the performance of Ryzen 9000 CPUs, but also aims to improve the results seen in Zen4 and Zen3 architectures – with Ryzen 7000 and Ryzen 5000 processors included.

Taking into account that both structures received improvements in Windows 11 24H2, the difference between them remains very small and will make a difference when the user chooses which model to purchase among the available options.
