The Ryzen 7 9800X3D has certainly made its presence felt in the gaming processor market, so it shouldn’t take long for overclockers to push the CPU to its limits. And we already have some of the first tests with liquid nitrogen, with an overclocker making the new Ryzen reach 6.9GHz in games.
The person responsible for this feat is the well-known Uncle Tony, who works with ASUS in China and often publishes overclocking tests on his social networks. In his current video, in Chinese, the overclocker not only shows the tests, but begins by explaining the difference in 3D V-Cache technology.
Going to the main part, Uncle Tony shows that he managed to reach 6.75GHz with the CPU running on Cinebench R23, to then go from 6.8GHz and reach up to 6.9GHz running Counter-Strike 2.
The overclocker adds that the Ryzen 7 9800X3D delivers a “minimum of 500 fps” in competitive shooter games, without overclocking. In CS2 benchmark mode, the processor reached 1200 fps. These are numbers that make the processor a good choice for use with monitors with very high refresh rates, so Uncle Tony takes the opportunity to remember that ASUS is working on going beyond 1,000Hz.
