The Ryzen 7 9800X3D, the first processor with 3D V-Cache in the current generation of AMD CPUs, is expected to be announced on October 25th. This is what the current rumor indicates, which also mentions that the component will arrive with a very high clock rate, and that “it won’t be cheap”.

The information comes from wjm47196 on the chiphell forum. This is a person who has already appeared in previous leaks, but it is worth remembering that we are not talking about official information.

According to the post, the Ryzen 7 9800X3D will be announced on October 25th, and will hit stores in the first week of November. “The frequency will be very high, the price has not yet been determined (it will not be cheap)”, says the text.

The leaker goes further and even says that he recommends waiting for the 9950X3D, for those who do not have an immediate need to change.

The “timing” of the launch indicates that AMD is confident that it will be able to take attention away from the Intel Core Ultra 200S series, which hits stores on October 24th – one day before the supposed launch of the Ryzen 7 9800X3D.

What would be the “very high frequency” of the Ryzen 7 9800X3D?

The post by wjm47196 calls the new processor’s clock rate “very high”, but does not talk about concrete numbers. However, a leak from earlier this week points out that the Ryzen 7 9800X3D runs at 4.7GHz, with a boost of up to 5.2GHz. These are considerably better numbers than the Ryzen 7 7800X3D, which offers 4.2GHz and 5GHz, in base and boost, respectively.

More about Ryzen processors:

The folks at WCCFTech, however, choose to go further into speculation. The site makes its own estimate that the boost processor’s single core frequency could reach close to 9700X, which would be 5.5GHz. This would represent an even greater increase over the previous generation CPU with 3D V-Cache.

If the leak dates are correct, it won’t be long before we finally have official information about the processor.
