The Radeon 890M iGPU, the largest mobile implementation of the RDNA 3.5 architecture, has been gaining more attention from AMD. ASUS, then, decided to reveal what to expect from the integrated graphics below the top of the line, Radeon 880M, which is up to 15% better than its predecessor in 3DMark Time Spy.
In this benchmark, the Radeon 880M is up to 15% superior to the Radeon 780M (RDNA 3), the best iGPU present in the Ryzen 7040/8040 APUs. It is also less than 15% behind the GeForce RTX 3050 mobile at 40w, but consuming less than half.
According to AMD, in the same benchmark, the Radeon 890M, the top-of-the-line RDNA 3.5 iGPU present in the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370, is up to 32% better than the Radeon 780M. So we could be talking about a performance similar to that of NVIDIA’s GPU.
The new AMD RDNA 3.5 architecture, with 12 compute units, increases the performance of the graphics cores by approximately 15% compared to the previous generation, approaching the performance of the RTX 3050 at 40w. It can run mainstream MOBA and FPS games, as well as many AAA titles.

The Radeon 880M will be part of the Ryzen AI 9 365, the second processor in the series that, so far, has only two SKUs revealed, and is equipped with 12 computing units at 2.9 GHz, four less than the top-of-the-line iGPU.
Top-of-the-line RDNA 3.5 iGPU performance
When it first revealed the Ryzen AI 300, AMD promised that the top-of-the-line RDNA 3.5 integrated graphics, the Radeon 890M, would deliver 36% more gaming performance versus the Intel Core Ultra 185H, equipped with the strongest Arc iGPU in the series.
During the recent event where AMD revealed details of the Ryzen 9000 and Ryzen AI 300, the company showed the performance of the Radeon 890M on an ASUS Zenbook S16, a notebook equipped with the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370. The set ran Lies of P on the medium preset, at 1080p, stably without using AMD FSR.
The upscaling feature together with frame generation would undoubtedly provide a considerable performance boost for an economical graphics chip that is already capable of delivering good performance, according to the benchmarks we have seen so far.
The Ryzen AI 300, along with the Radeon 880M and Radeon 890M iGPUs, will arrive in notebooks in July, also bringing the AMD Zen 5 architecture to mobile processors.
