AMD prepares Ryzen 5 9600X3D and other SKUs Ryzen 90003XD [RUMOR]

The AMD Zen 5 CPU lineup is expected to increase with different SKUs featuring 3D V-Cache technology. According to a leaker, the Ryzen 9000X3D should arrive in 4 different models. In addition to the Ryzen 7 9800X3D, which has already appeared in rumors, the Ryzen 5 9600X3D, Ryzen 9 9900X3D and 9950X3D are also in production.

Hoang Anh Phu, a leaker with a history of success, confirmed these other processors and also said that the 9600X3D was designed together with the other Zen 5 CPUs with 3D V-Cache technology from the beginning.

But, if AMD follows what it did with other Ryzen x600X3D CPUs, such as the Ryzen 5 7600X3D and Ryzen 5 5600X3D, which exclusively reached the North American market through a store, we shouldn’t see the Ryzen 5 9600X3D with worldwide availability.

According to rumors so far, these would be the memory configurations of the Ryzen 9000X3D:

• Ryzen 9 9950X3D – 144 MB
• Ryzen 9 9900X3D – 140 MB
• Ryzen 7 9800X3D – 104 MB
• Ryzen 5 9600X3D – 102 MB

Information about the Ryzen 9000X3D

This lineup should see its debut marked by the AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D, successor to the Ryzen 7 7800X3D, considered the king of games until now. The arrival of the intermediate Zen 5 SKU with 3D V-Cache technology should be between October and November this year, with the rest prepared for CES 2025.

Mention of the Ryzen 9000X3D has already appeared on the ASUS website, on the pages of its AM5 motherboards with 800 series chipset. Another information about this lineup, coming from WCCFtech sources, said that these SKUs would support overclocking, something that is not common in X3D CPUs.

If the Ryzen 5 9600X3D follows suit with its Zen 4-based predecessor, there’s a chance it could be one of the best bets with memory stacking technology as it’s a more affordable CPU. The Ryzen 5 7600X3D, for example, outperforms the Ryzen 9 7900X3D while consuming much less.

But, so far, no other AMD CPU has surpassed the performance of the Ryzen 7 7800X3D in games, and it even leaves the Intel Core i9-14900K behind in different games and resolutions, as you can see in our review.

AMD has the difficult task of raising its value in processors after the below-expected performance with the Zen 5 CPUs. The role of the Ryzen 9000X3D is to surpass its predecessors and establish itself as attractive solutions, especially in games, like the other CPUs with 3D V-Cache has been doing so since the Ryzen 5000.
