Large -scale AI processing for professional use does not only live on advances in GPUS and other types of inference accelerators. The connection network between components is equally important, which is why AMD presented thinking Pollara, the first network card in the certified world for the Ultra Ethernet standard.
Ultra Ethernet has become an official standard this week, with the publication of specification 1.0 of technology by the new consortium of companies responsible for their development. Thus, AMD arrives ahead with the first dedicated component, in the form of thinking pollara, which delivers up to 400gbps.
This type of NIC (NIC (NIC) (NIC) is focused on gigantic scale systems, preparing for up to one million GPUS or other types of AI accelerator working together.
AMD’s new board is based on a company’s own design, with customizable hardware to support RDMA, adjustable transportation and acceleration of communication library protocols.

Oracle brand service debut of the new plate
Oracle is the first company to adopt the new NIC of AMD. The company made the announcement along with its partner, promoting its service Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), which offers cloud computing for customers.

According to the companies, thinking POLLARA will begin to be used in service in the second half of this year. In addition, NIC should be implemented in a new Zetta scale cluster, which Oracle prepares up to 131,072 units of the new AMD GPUS Instinct Mi355X. The company aims to offer AMA AMD training services to its customers on a large scale.
