Following the leaked details of the alleged 128-core AMD Epyc 9755, we now have benchmark results circulating the internet. A system with the chip reportedly ran through CPU-Z to deliver an impressive multi-core score of 108,093.
The screenshot of the diagnostic tool was shared by HXL (@9550pro), the same person who revealed details about the processor yesterday.
WCCFTech reports that the result supposedly obtained by the Epyc 9755 is 14% higher than what the top of the line of the last generation achieved, the Epyc 9654. Check out the details of each one below, according to the leaks of the new component, for comparison:
- Epyc 9755 – 128 núcleos Zen 5, 256 threads | 512MB L3 + 128MB L2 + 10MB L1 = 650MB de cache
- Epyc 9654 – 96 núcleos Zen 4, 192 threads | 384MB L3 + 96MB L2 + 6MB L1 = 496MB de cache
The processor’s single-core score drops to just 653.7 points, but that’s certainly not the strong point of this type of server-grade product. The site put together a chart comparing the new Epyc 9755 with two models from the previous generation:
Something interesting to note is that the result, if true, must belong to an engineering sample of the Epyc 9755. In other words, it is possible that we will see even better scores in the final launch of the product.
Turin Generation brings Epyc 9755 and 9965
AMD’s next-generation server and HPC processors are codenamed Turin and are based on Zen 5. As described in this post, the Epyc 9755 features 128 Zen 5 cores, while the other option in the generation will be the Epyc 9965, with 192 Zen 5c cores.
AMD has already spoken openly about the products, but the leaks section is not the hottest – a rarity in the hardware world.
Now that we have benchmark results for the Epyc 9755, we can expect to have more information about the Epyc 9965 soon as well. That is while we wait for an official announcement regarding the release date.
