Recent market research shows that AMD has gradually gained an increasing share of the processor segment for home PCs. Amazon’s current ranking in the US shows the result of this trend in practice: the 10 best-selling CPUs in the store are currently all AMD.
At the time of writing this post, in fact, we could even say that the 11 best-selling processors are AMD. Apparently, the last positions in the ranking fluctuate a lot, and have already changed since Tom’s Hardware first spoke about the subject.
Therefore, the ranking may be different on the official Amazon page while the reader accesses this post. At the time of publication, this was the top 10 best-selling processors on the giant online store:
- Ryzen 5 5600X (6c+12t)
- Ryzen 7 5700X (8c+16t)
- Ryzen 7 9800X3D (8c+16t)
- Ryzen 5 7600X (6c+12t)
- Ryzen 7 7800X3D (8c+16t)
- Ryzen 9 5900X (12c+24t)
- Ryzen 7 5700X3D (8c+16t)
- Ryzen 7 7700X (8c+16t)
- Ryzen 7 5800X (8+16t)
- Ryzen 5 7600 (6c+12t)
As mentioned, at the moment the 11th position is also occupied by an AMD Ryzen, the 5500. The first Intel will only appear in the next position, being a Core i5-13600KF.
AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D is the only Ryzen 9000 on the list
While Amazon’s list of best-selling processors is irrefutable proof of the popularity of AMD products, it also demonstrates the low popularity of the Ryzen 9000 series, the company’s most recent releases.
Only the famous Ryzen 7 9800X3D appears in the top 10, in third place. The next Zen 5 will only appear in 13th position after the Intel CPU, being a Ryzen 9 9900X.
