AMD B840 and B850 motherboards arrive on January 15, 2025

A CES 2025 is coming, and it looks like new motherboards from AMD models B840 and B850 will be announced during the event and launched later, on January 15, 2025.

The information should still be treated as just a rumor, but due to the proximity of the event and the gap to be filled by mid-range models.

With the arrival of mid-range motherboards, not only by AMD, but also through Intel, we will have the B8 series with similar specifications and values, competing in the market, between entry-level and high-end models, becoming the ideal option for many who want to set up a good configuration, with support for new technologies, but without spending excessively – not that anything is cheap today, but saving, even a little, is already a good thing.

Speaking of the possibility of launching these models, AMD already has a wide range of X670/B650 motherboards with AM5 socket and support for the latest standards, such as DDR5 memory and PCIe Gen5 interface. But we know that if the gamer can perform a hardware upgrade, he will do so, after all, his Ryzen 7 9800X3D and Ryzen 5 9600X are waiting for an address. According to what was posted by Board Channels and reported by VideoCardz, the embargo dates for AMD B850/B840 cards are as follows:

• January 7: Announcement
• January 15: Market launch (and analysis?)

Unlike AMD, Intel may be more interested in launching its new models, as it does not have any LGA-1851 mid-range cards. Furthermore, according to Board Channels, the Intel B860 and H810 models should also arrive soon, following the following dates:

• January 6: Pre-orders
• January 7: Announcement
• January 13: Market launch (and analysis?)

“AMD’s next-generation B850 and B840 series motherboards will debut at CES 2025 on January 7th and will be officially launched on January 15th. Resellers in the online channel are expected to be able to obtain products about a week in advance. On Intel’s side, the new generation of mid-range B860 series motherboards and entry-level H810 series motherboards will also be released on January 7, but pre-orders will be accepted one day in advance (6 January), and sales will officially launch on January 13th, and channel resellers can also get the products a week in advance.” — Board Channels
