Acer is expected to be one of the first notebook manufacturers to announce products powered by Intel’s new Lunar Lake processors. The company has scheduled its annual Next@Acer event for September 4, the day after the official launch of the Intel Core 200V.
The portable device brand has not spoken openly about what it plans to show at the event, but these presentations are usually focused on notebooks. So, based on the timing of the event, it is safe to assume that we will see products with Lunar Lake.
The Next@Acer 2024 features the theme “Human Intelligence.” Although the name replaces “human” with “artificial,” it’s clear that AI will be at the center of the presentation of the new products, as has been the case in the marketing strategies of basically every technology company – even though research shows that the idea hasn’t worked very well.
It is worth remembering that Intel’s Lunar Lake generation will offer mobile processors within Microsoft’s specifications for Copilot+ PCs. In other words, the Intel Core 200V offers AI performance starting at 40 TOPS, and Acer will be able to promote its products in these lines if it so wishes.
Lunar Lake doesn’t just have NPU
While companies are focusing their marketing efforts almost entirely on AI, notebook processors also need to stand out with integrated graphics. In this area, the Arc iGPUs present in Lunar Lake will have to compete with the Radeon 890M, offered by the Ryzen AI 300 line.

AMD’s new notebook processors made their official debut last month. In other words, Intel is “running behind” with its launch, and it seems that the graphics performance of its products will not steal the show. Therefore, it will be interesting to follow Acer’s launches to see which features the company will choose to highlight in its new notebooks.
