Aaeon launches smaller mini PC with Intel Core Ultra in the world – just 43mm tall

AAEON presented this week its new Pico-MTU4-Semi Mini PC, which the company claims to be the smallest in the world using Intel Core Ultra processor. The device measures only 108 x 95 x 43mm, with a total volume of 0.4L. It is certainly among the smallest computers available using a domestic processor, the Core Ultra 5 125U or an Ultra 7 165U.

It is no surprise that such a compact system bet on the passive cooling of the CPU. Trees for ventilation at the top of the carcass are one of the first things that draw attention in the mini PC. Regardless of the processor chosen, TDP is the same: only 15W.

The second thing that draws attention in the new mini PC is the presence of not just one but three doors, one of them compatible with GPio. Thus, it is evident that the peak-MTU4-semi is focused on commercial use in industrial environments for machinery operation. But it is still curious such a small computer to sacrifice such space for serial interface.

But AAEON’s small computer still features an HDMI 1.4 connection, next to two 1BE and 2.5GBE LAN ports and two USB-A 3.2 connections.

As might be expected, a mini PC with so much focus on portability sacrifices some of its customization ability. RAM, for example, is LPDDR5 type, which comes welded on the plate with capacity options up to 32GB.

The storage is also a drive M.2 and the user can choose the operating system when buying. The options are not restricted to Windows 10 and 11, also having a Ubuntu Linux 22.04.2 variant that should be more affordable. AAEON, however, does not openly disclose Pico-MTU4-Semi prices, it is necessary to contact the company for a budget.
