MSI started the year 2026 with a teaser which aims to solve one of the biggest fears of fans of hardware: the energy security of high-performance video cards.
The company preliminarily revealed the new line of MSI MPG fonts Ai1300TS and Ai1600TS, which highlight a technology described as “proactive and instantaneous protection” for GPUs.
According to the images released, the models aim to serve the high-end segment, offering power 1300W e 1600W.
The main focus appears to be mitigating electrical issues that, in past generations, resulted in melted connectors on NVIDIA cards, particularly the RTX 4090 series.
The idea is to put an end to what the manufacturer calls “invisible problems”.
Active protection via software
Although the complete technical sheet is not yet available, the images suggest that the new power units have a dedicated USB connector on the chassis.
This indicates that communication between the source and the operating system will be directallowing real-time monitoring via software, probably throughof MSI Center.
This connection could be the key to the “instant” security feature
The system must monitor oscillations or anomalies in the delivery of energy through cable 12V-2×6 (successor to 12VHPWR). If it detects any instability that could cause overheating or physical damage to the video card connector, the source could cut the power or adjust the graphics parameters. electrical voltage before damage occurs.

The designation “PCIE5” confirms native compatibility with the latest industry standards, eliminating the need for adapters for modern video cards. MSI says the full reveal, with technical details on how proactive protection works in practice, will take place during the show in Las Vegas next week.
