ASUS has released an 18-second teaser video revealing its new line of “Neo” motherboards for the AMD AM5 platform.

With the proximity of CES 2026the manufacturer is preparing updates for the series ROG Crosshair, ROG Strix, TUF Gaming e Pro Artfocusing on quality of life improvements, advanced cooling and new connectivity standards for hardware and performance enthusiasts.

The movement follows the trend of market refreshes, similar to what competitors like MSI and Gigabyte have done with their Max and X3D lines. However, the Neo motherboards appear to focus on physical and usability refinements over AMD’s 800-series chipsets.

Wireless connection for AIO and focus on cooling

One of the most striking details of the teaser is the presence of pinos pogo (spring-loaded connectors) located next to the AM5 socket, identified as Aue_poo.

The implementation suggests a proprietary solution to eliminate the need for traditional power and monitoring cables on water coolers, allowing for a cleaner, direct fit.

The idea is in line with the iniciativa BTF (Back to Future) from ASUS, which seeks to reduce the visibility of cables inside the case. By integrating power directly onto the board through these pins, installing compatible coolers becomes simpler and more aesthetically pleasing.

Furthermore, the manufacturer must introduce a new thermal solution for NVMe SSDs. The video displays a tag “3D VC M.2” next to the storage slots, indicating the use of steam chambers (Vapor Chamber).

The technology, common in graphics cards and CPU coolers, should control the high temperatures generated by PCIe 5.0 SSDs, maintaining stable transfer rates without thermal throttling.

NitroPath for Memories and Q-Release Review

Another novelty confirmed visually is the expansion of technology NitroPath for the entire Neo line. Previously restricted to top of the line models such as the ROG Crosshair X870E Herothis technology optimizes memory lanes to support higher DDR5 frequencies with greater stability.

ASUS also appears to have listened to community feedback regarding the graphics card release mechanism. The teaser suggests abandoning the system Q-Release Slim — which allowed the GPU to be removed just by tilting it, but which generated controversy and reports of damage to connectors.

The new cards should return to a more traditional and secure button mechanism for locking the PCIe slot. More technical details and the complete product line are expected to be officially presented during the CES 2026which takes place in the first week of January.
