X3D AMD Zen 6 processors may have 288MB of cache memory

AMD can reach new levels of cache capacity in X3D processors based on Zen 6. The information is not official, but comes from an insider with a favorable history of success in leaks of this type. According to him, next generation processors with 3D V-Cache can reach up to 288MB of capacity.

HXL’s post appeared in response to a meme praising bLLC, which could be Intel’s response to X3D, expected for unlocked Nova Lake processors. Rumors indicate that Intel components are already targeting 288MB, which could be a big advantage over the currently available X3D.

In his post, HXL says that Zen 6 with one CCD can reach 144MB and with two CCDs it would reach up to 288MB. This indicates that at least one of the X3D processors will implement dual 3D V-Cache, one for each CCD. This design is expected to make its debut at CES 2026, with the Ryzen 9 9950X3D2.

AMD prepares the ground for Zen 6 generation

Leaks about the next generation of AMD processors have become a little more frequent, which is an indication that the company is preparing to talk about the products officially. Last week we even had an update to GCC that will help new Linux distributions arrive compatible with Zen 6.

There is not much speculation, however, that we will see official news for the line at CES 2026. The expectation for AMD at the event is to focus on the Ryzen AI 400 (Gorgon Point), the Ryzen 9000G line (AI 300 for dekstops) and the possible new X3D: the Ryzen 7 9850X3D and the Ryzen 9 9950X3D2.
