ASRock changes its mind and launches its white Radeon RX 9070 XT with LCD screen

ASRock revealed this week that a GPU that was just a concept will hit stores. The Radeon RX 9070 XT Taichi White OC has a white body, as indicated by the name, but its main difference is a small 2” LCD screen, attached to the top of the GPU.

The screen works in the same way as most similar displays on internal PC components. By default, it shows system information, such as temperature or video card clock. Alternatively, the user can choose images and animations to show on the screen.

The detail is accompanied by striking ARGB lights that dominate the top of the GPU and extend to the body through small “windows” that let the color leak through. The design of three fans from Taichi models is maintained in the new Radeon RX 9070 XT, with the middle fan in translucent acrylic, also illuminated by colored LEDs.

Both the screen images and the color scheme of the new ASRock graphics card can be configured using the PolyChrome Sync app.

Details of the new RX 9070 XT Taichi White OC

The video does not offer many technical details of ASRock’s new RX 9070 XT variant, only confirming the model’s 16GB. We can expect, however, configurations similar to the Radeon RX 9070 XT Taichi OC in black, which is now available.

The standard model of the 9070 XT Taichi OC focuses especially on clock speed. This is one of the only AMD RDNA 4 cards configured with a 12V-2×6 connector, capable of up to 450W for a higher clock rate. While the reference Radeon RX 9070 XT has a base clock of 2,400MHz and boost up to 2,970MHz, the Taichi OC version reaches 2,570MHz and goes up to 3,100MHz.

The board shown in the video is a rendered animation and the connector that appears is the traditional 8-pin connector. This may have been an error when simulating the card, or ASRock is planning a very unexpected change for this variant.
