G.Skill has officially commented on the constant and exponential increase in memory prices in recent months. In a very summarized statement, the company does not go much further than what is already public knowledge about the increased values, blaming the demand for AI for the situation.
“DRAM prices are experiencing significant industry-wide volatility due to global supply constraints and shortages caused by unprecedented high demand coming from the AI industry,” the statement reads, loosely translated. The company also makes it clear that further increases may occur:
“As a result, costs to acquire and supply G.Skill have increased substantially. G.Skill prices reflect increases in the cost of components from IC suppliers across the industry, and are subject to change without notice based on market conditions. Buyers should be aware of prices before purchasing. Thank you.”
G.Skill doesn’t talk about the most important part in his statement
The company’s text seems aimed at potential customers who are not following the news and the current market situation. The company just explains that it is following current trends and blames the demand for AI for this.
For potential buyers aware of current trends, it would be more interesting to have information on G.Skill’s plans to face these increases, whether measures are being taken to guarantee the supply of components, or an update on the status of its stocks and to what extent this may affect the next increases.

The company also does not offer a forecast of when values may begin to normalize again. We already have this type of forecast coming from other sources, however, and the prospect is not at all optimistic – perhaps that is why G.Skill preferred not to comment on this case.
