A new leak from the Gorgon Point series shows that not all processors in AMD’s new notebook line will draw attention for their performance. The Ryzen AI 9 465 would have leaked in Geekbench’s synthetic test, showing numbers very close to its predecessor model, the Ryzen AI 9 365.
As shown in the capture below, the Ryzen AI 9 465 appears supposedly to equip an ASUS Vivobook S 15 notebook, with Windows 11. The processor is listed with a total of 10 cores, running at a base clock of 2GHz and boost up to 4.8GHz. The integrated graphics are provided by a Radeon 880M.

Under these conditions, the new Gorgon Point processor would be able to score 2,780 in single-core and up to 12,001 in multi-core. WCCFTech put together a comparison with average results from other processors on Geekbench, which you can see below:

As we can see, the Ryzen AI 9 465 has basically the same scores as its predecessor. The Ryzen AI 9 365 scores 2,494 in single-core, which is less than the Gorgon Point, but achieves 12,475, which is a higher number than its successor CPU gets.
Different configurations and situations can greatly vary the results offered by Geekbench, but we can estimate that, on average, the new series of APUs should not bring a jump in performance – nor is this expected to happen, in fact.
Ryzen AI 9 465 is almost at the top of the Gorgon Point
The leak on Geekbench also draws attention by listing the codename of the Ryzen AI 9 465 as Strix Point. The “error” makes sense, since Gorgon Point processors are a refresh of the current generation of components for AMD notebooks. And this is one of the reasons that a major technical leap is not expected between the Ryzen AI 300 and the Ryzen AI 400.

Leaks started by listing a few components, but now it appears that AMD is preparing a total of 7 SKUs for the Ryzen AI 400 series, which should also include refreshes on the Krackan Point, the company’s currently most affordable APUs.
In this list, the Ryzen AI 9 465 is almost at the top, behind only the Ryzen AI 9 HX 470.
