Acemagic Tank M1A Pro Plus is a powerful cube-shaped mini PC with Ryzen AI Max+ 395

Acemagic this week presented the Tank M1A Pro Plus, its new compact PC in a cubic format. The computer is aimed at gamers, so it comes with some ARGB LED decorations and, most importantly, a Ryzen AI Max+ 395 processor.

The APU is at the top of AMD’s Strix Halo line, featuring 16 Zen 5 cores and 32 threads, with a boost clock of up to 5.1GHz and a TDP of 55W, as it is a processor for notebooks and mini PCs. Its biggest difference is the integrated Radeon 8060S GPU, with enough performance to be compared to dedicated PC video cards.

To focus on the high-performance segment, the Acemagic Tank M1A Pro Plus also comes with up to 128GB of LPDDR5X memory, running at 8,000MT/s. The card supports storage up to 12TB and Wi-Fi 7 connectivity.

Unfortunately, Acemagic has not yet offered a release date or suggested price for its new compact computer, saying only that the computer will arrive “soon”. We can speculate, however, that this compact system will not have one of the most affordable prices, since the Strix Halo line is famous for equipping products with somewhat prohibitive prices.

Can we say that Acemagic was inspired by the Steam Machine?

After the launch of the Steam Deck we saw an impressive shift in the number of PC gaming laptops following exactly the same proposal. Thus, it is not unreasonable to expect a similar movement happening in the mini PC segment after Valve presented the new generation of Steam Machine.

Not long after, we had the announcement of The Cube by Chieftec, a cube-shaped cabinet that the company says is inspired by speakers. Acemagic doesn’t say where its inspiration for the Tank M1A Pro Plus came from, but a complete cube-shaped system could be considered a competitor to Valve’s machines.
