It appears that AMD has several other lines in development for the EPYC family. According to new information on the red team website, three new families have been identified: EPYC Embedded Venice, Embedded Série 4005 e EPYC Embedded Annapurna.

Each of these lines targets different segments, so it is necessary to detail them.

First, however, it is important to highlight that AMD’s latest EPYC Embedded family, the 4005 line, is based on the Granite Ridge “Zen 5” family and features up to 16 cores with PCIe Gen5 support.

AMD also offered its high-performance Embedded “Genoa” line with up to 192 “Zen 5” cores and up to 512 MB of L3 cache with 128 PCIe Gen5 lanes. These lines have been on the market for some time. and, having said that, we can move on to the new lines that the company is presenting to the market.

Firstly, the AMD EPYC Embedded line, which is part of the Venice family. Note that the Venice family also includes server and data center solutions based on the latest generation Zen 6 core architecture.

While the Venice lineup offers up to 256 cores based on TSMC’s 2nm process technology, EPYC Embedded Venice chips feature up to 96 “Zen 6” cores with PCIe Gen6 and DDR5/MRDIMM support. This line should be identified as the EPYC Embedded “9006” series.

Next up is the AMD EPYC Embedded Fire Range series, aimed at mid-range platforms. This line offers up to 16 “Zen 5” cores and several features, such as PCIe Gen5, DDR5-5600, and uses the same chips as the Ryzen 9000HX family for mobile devices.

These mobile chips are essentially desktop chips adapted for mobile platforms. Target segments include networking, storage and industrial applications.

Ultimately, the AMD EPYC Embedded Annapurna family consists of Highly integrated x86 CPUs optimized for network control planes. These chips deliver leading performance per watt and cost-effectiveness, making them perfect for input switches, routers, security, devices, and optical transport.

AMD did not detail the main architecture of these chips, but, with CES 2026 approaching, will there be news during the company’s panel at the event?
