Xbox Full Screen Experience increases MSI Claw A1M performance by almost 9%

MSI has released some details of the positive impact on performance that Xbox Full Screen Experience mode has brought to its notebooks. The biggest gain was on the MSI Claw A1M, which achieved an 8.9% increase in frames per second count running Cyberpunk 2077 in FullHD, with graphics on low and Intel XeSS activated in balanced mode.

As you know, Xbox Full Screen Experience (FSE) was designed to help squeeze a little more performance out of portable devices by “cleaning up” Windows operations to the bare minimum to free up more hardware to run games. The mode also silences notifications and pauses maintenance activities on machines where it is activated.

The feature made its debut on the ASUS ROG Xbox Ally, but is now available on all handhelds – and even desktop PCs and notebooks for Windows Insiders. But the first devices to receive the new feature outside of ASUS were the MSI Claw, so that’s why MSI is also the first to share more details of what the feature can offer.

Xbox FSE earnings vary on each MSI Claw model

As MSI shows in the video, Xbox FSE mainly helps reduce the amount of RAM needed by the system. On the MSI Claw A1M and 8 AI+ the reduction was between 9% and 10%.

This difference is not directly carried over to the games, but it already makes a difference. As mentioned, the Claw A1M benefited the most, but in the same settings the MSI Claw 8 AI+ had gains of 6.4%.

MSI also shared information for the Claw A8, running the game on low with FSR 3 balanced and Frame Generation turned on. The gain was 6.3%.
